Sad news for the basketball family: NBA Hall of Famer Moses Malone Dies at 60




Pro Basketball Hall of Famer and three-time NBA MVP Moses Malone died Sunday, according to ESPN. He was 60. The cause of his death is currently unknown.

Malone, a 12-time NBA All-Star, played for eight teams in over 20 seasons in the league. The 6-10 center led the Philadelphia 76ers to the league title in 1983 and was named Finals' MVP. After averaging 20.6 points and 12.3 rebounds per game over his career, Malone was named one of the NBA's 50 Greatest Players. He finished his career with 27,409 points and 16,212 rebounds.

In addition to two different stints with the 76ers, Malone also played for the Houston Rockets, Washington Bullets, Atlanta Hawks and the San Antonio Spurs, who he finished his career with during the 1994-95 season. He won his league MVPs in 1979, 1982 and 1983, having been inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2001.
